Bring your own key
Settings → BYOK lets you add your own provider API keys. When a key is active for a provider, text generation on that provider's models runs on your key: you pay the provider directly and nothing draws from your allowance.

Keys are per user and per provider. Adding an Anthropic key routes your Claude calls through it; calls to other providers keep drawing the allowance until you add keys for them too.
Fees

BYOK does not replace the subscription: the workspace still needs an active plan or trial for any generation to run.
Adding a key
- Go to Settings → BYOK.
- Pick the provider and paste the key.
- Click Validate & Save. Reactor makes a test call against the provider first; invalid keys are rejected.
Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage and never logged or stored in plaintext. To rotate one, submit a new key for the same provider (the form switches to Replace Key); to stop using BYOK, click Remove.
What runs on your key
- All text generation on that provider's models: drafts, the assistant, AI edits, insights, and MCP calls.
- Web research (the assistant's live web search and engine drafting research) runs on your Anthropic key when one is active.
What does not
Image and video generation always run on Reactor's own provider keys and draw from the allowance (or overage). There is no BYOK path for media.
